Cornelius James "Roy" Romijn

May 22, 1946 - September 6, 2017

Cornelius James LeRoy "Roy" Romijn, 72, of Spring, Texas, passed away on September 6, 2017. He was born in Gouda, The Netherlands, on May 22, 1946. Roy came to the United States of America when he was 4 yrs. old with his family. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah where he graduated from West High school. He attended Utah University and taught Skiing. He soon went to serve in the Army Reserves during Vietnam in the Graves Registration department. After becoming a Citizen of the USA he started several companies and then ended up in Texas as a machinist for Webb and Webb.

He met and married Wendy Gail Wernecke in 1988 and was married for 29 years. He was active in his church (Served as President of the Church Council and taught Confirmation Sunday School, and church choir), Boy Scouts of America (Woodbadge – Eagle, Scoutmaster for Troop 113, and Ship Chaplain for Ship 1659), and North Harris Destination Imagination where he was an Appraiser.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Katrina Romijn and his sister Charlotte Day-Berry. He is survived by: wife, Wendy; daughter, Kathleen Marie "Katie"; and son, Jacob Elijah Romijn and wife Felicia; granddaughter, Charlotte Jean Romijn; sisters: Jorita McGregor of Utah and Florence Gaydos of Arizona and numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and many friends...

We will miss you, Roy (My Love)/ Dad/Daddy/ Opa!

A Memorial Service for Roy Romijn will be held at the Hosanna Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 16th at 11:00 a.m., with a lunch to follow. The address is 16526 Ella Blvd. Houston, Tx 77090.
