On February 3 ^rd , 2021, Cornelio "Nel" Catacutan Arceo passed away at the age of 74 in Cypress, Texas.

Nel was born May 1 ^st , 1946 in Manila, Philippines, as the third youngest son and seventh child in a family of ten siblings. Despite many hardships, he earned his mechanical engineering degree from Mapúa University in 1969 and worked for several years in the field, finding success.

Nel was a man of the world who loved traveling and visiting any and all places he could. During his migration to the United States, he fulfilled his dream of going around the world on his very first journey outside of his homeland. He would take any opportunity to have a great new adventure, whether it be a journey to a city or country he had never been before or a surprise visit to family and friends spread far and wide around the globe. He deeply treasured the many memories he made during his travels and often spoke about his past experiences, which he felt made him into the man that he was.

Above all, however, Nel treasured his family and his friends. Everyone who had ever met him remembered him as a kind, compassionate, strong-willed, hard-working, and wise man of principle with a large heart and a sharp mind who was ever ready to share a quick story or a witty joke. He, without exception, made time for those close to him. He never turned away anyone who needed help, no matter how difficult or easy the task was, and unfailingly gave everything he had in his goal. Nel had infinite room in his heart and his mind for anyone and everyone, and he has changed the lives of those that knew him for the better.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Iluminado Arnedo Arceo and Fausta Catacutan Arceo, his brother Herminio Arceo and his sisters Ofelia Arceo Alexander and Jehova Arceo.

Cornelio is survived by his loving wife, Betty Cloribel Arceo; his sons, Nick Arceo and Nelson Ryan Arceo; his daughter Marlene Arceo Puyot; step-mother Marcelina Arceo; mother-in-law Erlinda Danao Cloribel; brother-in-law Romeo Cloribel Jr.; brothers, Dr. Du Arceo and wife Nancy Katz, Beny Arceo and wife Janne, Romy Arceo and wife Yvonne, and Rick Arceo and wife Holly; sisters, Erlinda Lactaoen, and Nora Arceo Zieg and husband David; nieces, Lea Spagarino, Mai Lactaoen, Aleli Catacutan, Mia Fullerton, Tina Burris, Toni Arceo Galbraith, Dina Yamagata, Justinn Arceo, Lindsay Arceo Kincheloe, Jennifer Martinez, Liza Zeig, Bianca Perkins, and Abigail Arceo; and nephews, Allan Lactaoen, Andrew Arceo, Ian Zamora, Nigel Arceo, and Matthew Arceo.
