Corey Joseph Bobco, 31, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at his home in Spring, TX. He struggled with bipolar disorder for most of his adult life as he tried to navigate that delicate balance between the lowest of lows and the highest of highs. He was really happy the last two weeks of his life and was making plans for the future.

Corey was born May 28, 1989, in Dallas, TX, to parents Pete and Maxine Bobco. He attended Klein schools and graduated from UT Austin which he loved. He worked as a software engineer first in Austin and later in Houston. While living in Austin, he amassed a large circle of friends that he always enjoyed connecting with.

Corey was weird, quirky, and one of a kind. He lived life to the fullest. He had his own style and bowed to no one to change it. He made an impression on everyone he met. He was passionate in all his pursuits. He was an engaging conversationalist who wanted everyone to feel included.

Corey was an intellectual who loved philosophy, poetry, writing, and art. He was a voracious reader who comprehended and retained far more than most. He always had opinions and would unabashedly serve them up whether it was philosophy, politics, religion, or any other topic.

Corey was warm, gentle, and caring. He always had empathy for others. He had a heart of gold and would give everything he had away. Beginning in high school, he worked tirelessly collecting food to feed the homeless. In college, he continued that work and also volunteered with a group that sends free books to prisoners.

Corey was a loving brother and son. He was the glue that held his family together. He was in constant contact with his brothers and parents to make sure everyone was always communicating.

He loved spending time with his brothers, books, museums, The Menil, Indian food, Snickers ice cream bars, smoothies, his VR headset, music, DJing, surreal collages, strange movies, movie nights with his friends, dancing, markov chains, and Bernie.

Corey is survived by his loving parents; brothers, Brian Bobco and Austin Bobco; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all.

Due to COVID-19, services will be private with burial at Klein Memorial Park - Spring Klein. An outdoor Celebration of Life for his friends will be held at a later date.
