He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William George Hopkins, Jr. (PaPa Dub) in 2004, and Naomi Dot Childress Hopkins (Mama Nomie) in 2000; and his maternal grandfather, James Edward McKinley (PaPa) in 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Karyn Abercrombie Hopkins; his parents, Michael Don Hopkins and Adelle Marie McKinley Hopkins; his sister and her husband, Mikel Chesney Hopkins Rios and John; two nephews, Keagan Michael Rios and Kamden Dub Rios; his maternal grandmother, Wanda Marie Sheets McKinley; three uncles, William David Hopkins and wife Becky, James "Jamey" Edward McKinley, Jr. and wife Jo Beth, and William Gary McKinley; in-laws, David and Cheryl Abercrombie and Brian and Dickie Boring; sister-in-law, Bonnie Hursey and husband Michael; nephew, Mikey Hursey; and brothers-in-law, Benjamin Abercrombie and David Michael Abercrombie. Conrad is also survived by a host of cousins and lifetime friends.

He made his decision for Christ on July 17, 1983. God gave him a gift of a servant's heart. He was a friend to all who ever met him. He graduated from South Grand Prairie High in 1993. He was a member of the National Honor Society and active member in the SGP bands from middle school to high school. He followed in his father's footsteps and became a fine trumpet player.

Conrad was accepted to Texas A&M in his junior year of high school. He graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in December 1998. WHOOP!

Conrad and Karyn were married April 26, 2008, in Houston, Texas. He was an absolutely fantastic husband and doggy daddy and will be loved and missed by them both for the rest of their lives. Conrad loved his wife, his family, his friends, his dog, classic cars, music, and teasing Karyn to no end. Examples are claiming her family was really from New Jersey, breaking out in Country Western line dancing in public, and wasting a "meal with two side items" by choosing a fruit cup.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375 (281-351-7233). For those unable to attend visitation, the family will also be hosting an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at 34610 Jimmy Lane, Pinehurst, TX 77362.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Twelfth Man Foundation, Bernard C. Richardson Zone, Kyle Field, Suite 12, College Station, Texas 77841 in honor of Conrad Michael Hopkins "Class of 1997". He is a former student, but also a former employee of the Twelfth Man Foundation.
