Colonel John L. Lee (RET. USAF) of Houston, Texas passed away March 17th, 2019. He was a native of Houston, and served his country in stations across the world. He attended Sam Houston High School and graduated from Sam Houston State University. He later earned a master's degree from Webster University. His military honors included the prestigious Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal with Six Oak Clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal including the Vietnam Service Medal. He was the recipient of the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Palm and the Vietnamese Campaign Medal. He was the University Center Director for the University of Houston for many years after leaving military service. He was married to his wife Rose for 54 years and is survived by her, his two sons, Michael and Todd, their wives Tammy and Maureen and two Granddaughters Peyton and Brook Lee.
In Lieu of flowers, the family ask donations to be made to the USO or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
