Obituary

Collie J. "CJ" Mangano, Jr. born 10/5/1947 went home to his Heavenly Father on 4/8/2017 at 7:29am. He was born in New Orleans and raised in Gretna, LA, moving to Houston TX in 1975.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Tullier Mangano, two children, April Harrison and C. James Mangano, III, three grandchildren, Sloane, Blake and Kirby Harrison, his mother, Rita Aucoin Mangano, sisters Pamela Babin and Laurie Tingstrom.

CJ received an honorable discharge from the US Air Force after which he completed his degree in Criminal Justice from Loyola University in New Orleans, LA. He joined the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's office in Gretna, LA and later transferred to the Houston Police Department where he retired in 2005 after 30 years of service. He then joined Harris County Precinct 1 and served as a constable for the next eight years eventually retiring for the final time in 2015.

He was ordained as a Deacon in the Diocese of Galveston-Houston on 1/18/2003 and served the Lord at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in The Woodlands, TX until his death.

CJ touched the lives of many people during his time on this earth and will always be remembered by his infectious personality and brilliant smile.   He will be sorely missed by all.
