Clyde Edward "Eddie" Laird went to be with his Lord and Savior in Tomball, TX on November 21, 2019. He was born January 3, 1943 in Sheridan Arkansas to the late Ophelia and Clyde Laird. Eddie is survived by Dian Williamson Laird, his beloved wife of 54 years, daughters Carissa Wolfe and husband Jarmon of Tomball TX, Kyla Porche and husband Brad of Spring TX, and grandchildren Janie and Kendall Wolfe, Lauren and Logan Porche, sister Brenda Bolt, and brother Phillip Laird.
Eddie was a graduate of Tomball High School and went on to get a Masters degree in Chemistry from Sam Houston State University. He spent over 18 years of his career working as Lab Manager at Unocal in the Beaumont, TX refinery and later retired from Alon USA in Big Spring, TX.
Eddie loved God, enjoyed spending time with his family, and was especially proud of his grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, and reader. The last seven years of his life following a stroke in 2012 were particularly challenging, but his love for his family and their support kept him going. He enjoyed daily walks around the neighborhood and visiting with all his neighbors. Eddie spent the last 9 months of his life at New Haven Memory Care. We are grateful for all his wonderful caregivers during his time there.
Services will be at 11 am Monday, November 25 th at the Oklahoma Community Cemetery.
