Clyde Ellis (C.E.) Barrow, 90, born November 23,1934 in Conroe, Texas passed away on March 4, 2025.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents Ellis Barrow and Ruth Foster Barrow; Sister Liamor Dain Pearson and husband Raymond Pearson Jr.; Sister Dorothy Curry and husband Alton Curry; Nephews Raymond Pearson, III and Travis Pearson; and longtime special friend Gracie Thompson.
Clyde is survived by Nephew Alton (Ken) Curry Jr; Niece Sharon Curry Cox; Great-Nephew Casey Cox and wife Marie Cox; Great-Nephew Sean Cox; and Great-Great Niece Kennedy Cox.
Clyde is also survived by Stepsons, Randy Downey, Kenneth Downey and wife Vicki Downey, Michael Downey and wife Mary Downey.
After graduation from Conroe High School, Clyde served in the U.S. Army and upon discharge worked with his father in the road construction business providing materials for many of the roads in Montgomery County. In the mid-70's Clyde moved to Houston and began working for the City of Houston Water Department until he retired.
During his retirement, he especially enjoyed traveling in his RV around the country where he made many friends along the way, meeting up at various parks each year. He never missed an opportunity to travel to swap meets with his nephew Ken and enjoyed watching old westerns on television.
He was especially blessed to have many wonderful, caring neighbors who looked after him, bringing meals, mowing his lawn, running errands, and just spending time visiting with him.
He loved his family and friends and was a blessing in our lives.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday March 11, 2025, at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr, Spring, TX 77379
Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday March 12, 2025, at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery, 1600 Porter Road (next to Mims Baptist Church), Conroe, TX 77301
