Claude was born June 11, 1934 in a Pampa, Texas hospital to parents Claude and Paulean Locke. He graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas in 1952 and then North Texas State College in 1954. He joined the Air Force and retired with honors as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1978. He received two distinguished Flying Cross medals, a Bronze Star and a Legion of Merit – just to name a few. Afterward, he worked in real estate and later, as a broker for Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Locke married Emily and adopted her two sons. He is only survived by his son, Randolph M. Locke. They lived in Michigan and Texas. Barton, as Emily called him, and his wife loved dogs, Dobermans particularly. They made a hobby of breeding and showing them in local and national level shows and finished several champions.
Claude was also a member of the Woodlands church of Christ. He was a devoted, caring, and kind-hearted man who loved God and His people – and they loved him. He helped many missionaries, young families and children and enjoyed the blessing of being the blessing to so many. He loved God. And he loved people. He will be missed in this life.
Other special friends he leaves behind are Mrs. Sheri Lowther, his life-long friend and Mr. George Chapman, his best friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, at Claude's request, can be made to Texas Children's Hospital.
