God graced the late Anderson Scott and Lottie Fulton with a baby boy born naming him Clarence on 18 June 1938. He was the third of four boys (Edward, David, Henry, Johnny) and four girls (Dorothy, Lola, Daisy Mae, Rosie). Clarence received Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.  He was a faithful member of the Greater Galilee Missionary Baptist church under Pastor Mark A. Paul.

As a young boy the hat was bullied to fight due to his small stature and he was given the nickname "Duke". Duke was known by many and he knew everybody.  His formal education was from local schools in Magnolia, Texas.  He had many jobs, but none better than a Long Haul truck driver and hauling puck wood.  His job allowed him to travel to places that he welcomed in his life.  He continued the profession until he retired.

Duke didn't retire sitting on his butt. He went on to do the things he loved the most.  You could find him casting his fishing line at various ponds, lakes and rivers with a story of how he missed the big one.  If he wasn't there, he was doing what he really loved and that was spending time with his family and friends.  It was sometimes difficult to distinguish his family from his friends, which he had a special bond with John Henry, Godfrey, Brownie Hall and brothers.  He loved and spoke of them as if they were family.  His second home was hanging out with his "boys" wherever they might have found themselves, popping a can, playing dominos and living life to the fullest, usually in Acres Home or Hufsmith.  Duke would give you his last if he thought it would help.

Clarence leaves many behind to celebrate his homecoming. He is remembered by his wife Sandra Tyler-Scott, his children, Mary Ann Scott, Jo Ann Scott, Alvis (Barbara) Scott, Vanessa (Corey) Taylor, Jackie (Gabrielle) Osbourne, stepchildren, Claude (Belinda) Hall, Rick (Patricia) Hall, Danny (Michelle) Hall, Kenneth Hall, Floyd (Prudy) Hall, Vernon Hall (Deceased), Janice Taylor, Kim (Reggie) Tyler, Yvette Michelle (Carlster) Chatmon, Carolyn "Renee" (Robert) Jones, Evette (Christopher) Richards, Shawn (David) Daniel, Michael (Loretta) Tyler, Cherrie (Johnny "Jay", Deceased) Tyler and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.  He has one living aunt, Ola Mae (Leroy, deceased) Maxie-Fulton, two sisters, Dorothy "Dottie" Wade and Lola (Marvin) Phillips and one brother, John Berry.  Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson (A.C.) and Lottie Scott and siblings Edward (Flossie), David, Henry (Wanda), Daisy Mae (Ben) and Rosie (Don).
