Claire M. Hamblet, 93, passed away July 2, 2017. She was born July 6, 1923 in Pawtucket, R.I. and was the daughter of Ovide and Marie Viau. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn D. Hamblet. Claire graduated from Pawtucket East High School, now Toleman High School.

Before retiring and moving to Houston in 1993, she was a longtime Bookkeeper for Rice Machinery in Cranston, R.I. She was a member of The Woodlands Womens Club for many years and volunte3ered at the St. Annes Food Bank.

Claire is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Bruce Hayward, son and daughter-in-law, David and Judy Hamblet and 1 grandson, Jared Hamblet.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 9am, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Houston National VA Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
