Christie always brought sunshine wherever she went!

Christie was born on June 14th, 1968 in Kansas City, Missouri to Helen Carol Webster and Densel Dean Wilks.  Her father predeceased her in 2003.

After a protracted 5 ½ year battle with ovarian cancer, Christie Lee Brown passed away, with her family by her side, at the age of 52.  She is survived by husband Alan Forster Brown, her mother and stepfather Carol and Robert Zamora, sister Dee Street and husband Jayson and nephew Drake and niece Aliera.

A great joy of her life was her little doggies who were rescued (or they rescued us).   Well into her chemo treatments, her friend Tracey called her about 2 senior dogs that needed a home and needed to stay together.  Christie and Alan welcomed Minky and Foxy into their lives, and they were a great JOY to Christie for almost 4 years!

In 2015, after returning from Hawaii for our 25th anniversary, Christie started eating less of her meals and she felt full faster.  In December 2015 she endured a 6-hour surgery to remove the cancer.   In the years that followed, she fought the recurrent cancer with countless chemotherapy treatments, the last coming on March 10 ^th of this year.

Christie and Alan met at a Worldwide Church of God annual convention in Vail, Colorado.   A friend of a friend meeting setting off 32 years of friendship and love.  They were married, by Alan's father in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and had a strong, happy, faithful marriage, unconditional through the good and the bad.   They were fortunate to live at times in Spring Texas, Westminster Colorado, Windsor Ontario and Cypress Texas.

Christie always strived to do for others.  She was so gifted in her creativity, from making gift bags for nurses (sometimes during chemo infusion), to transforming common items into sympathy gifts for others, to helping her Mama with a wedding / church function / shower etc., to her video projects.  She brought a creative flair to all she did!

One day before she passed, she received a bracelet from her dear friend Leah  ---

stamped with "ELLE EST FORTE" (SHE IS STRONG).

Christie's husband, Alan, would like to thank all the doctors and nurses for applying their medical knowledge and compassion to help Christie be a 5-year survivor!  Special thanks to Dr. Naygandhi, Dr. Alaniz, their staffs, Seasons Hospice and the infusion nurses that made Christie comfortable through her 50+ chemo sessions.  We have all been blessed by their warmth and love.

The family will receive friends Saturday April 24, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. at Klein Funeral Home, with services at 2:00 p.m. Sunday April 25, 2021 in the chapel of Klein Funeral Home - Cy Fair – Northwest 9719 Wortham Blvd. Houston, Texas 77065. The family respectfully ask that everyone in attendance wear a mask/face covering.
