FLOWER MOUND, TX - Violet Christine Stone, 92, went to her heavenly home peacefully on September 15, 2018.  She was born in Linden, Texas, on May 11, 1926.  A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 22, at Klein Funeral Home Champions.

She was the daughter of Judge B. and Eula Mae Williams.  Chris was the eldest child of three and was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis and sister, Johnnie Sue.  As a young woman living in Corpus Christi, Texas, she met Naval airman John Swerdon at the USO, and they were married in 1947.  They resided in suburban Chicago for over twenty years, raising three children, until John passed away after a lengthy illness in 1968.  After a few years raising her children as a single mother, she was remarried in 1972 to Robert E. Stone.  They relocated their blended family back to her home state of Texas in 1972. They started a business, the Robert E. Stone Company, and Chris managed the finances for the next 35 years.  They loved to travel and did it extensively until Bob passed away in 2009. Fiercely independent until the end, she spent her later years focused on her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.  She is survived by her daughter, Pam Swerdon and partner William Foss, son, Robert Swerdon and wife Sylvia, son William Stone and wife Mary, daughter Carol Wilcox and husband Todd.  She is also survived by her 5 granddaughters, Amanda Stone, Kelly Klingaman and husband Matt, Rachael Swerdon, Courtney Wilcox and fiancé Jake Hunter, Connor von Storch and husband Kevin.  She has one great granddaughter, Leighton Klingaman.   In lieu of flowers, please send charitable donations to the American Heart Association.
