Chong Mun Kim
Chong was born January 10, 1977, God granted him
41 years of life on this Earth as he went home to be
with the Lord Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Chong
was born in South Korea to Kuk Song Kim and Hye Cha
Kim. He was their 4th child and youngest of the family.
At age 8, The Kim family moved to the United States
and the family found temporary roots in California. At
age 10, the family moved to Houston, TX, as his father
worked in carpentry and provided for his family. Chong
lived in Carriage Lane where he found several friends,
his best friend Erric, known by Chong as Cookie. They
have remained wonderful friends for over 30 years.
When Chong was in high school his father passed
away suddenly and he was unable to complete his
schooling. He was blessed with one son, JC. And
went on to obtain his GED and Citizenship
In 1998, he met the love of his life, Kristen Kim. They
married April 30, 2005 in Lake Jackson, TX. Making
friends along the way, he cherished time with them.

Kenzi, Steve Beard, all of our game buddies. He
thrived in competition. Chong and Kristen moved
several times until they finally settled down in
Northwest Houston. Chong worked in various
positions over his career. He was Inventory Control
Manager at Tamlyn & Sons in Stafford, TX. Chong
always gave his all in his work. He was determined to
be the best. In September 2018 Chong was diagnosed
with a very aggressive cancer. He fought with all he
could but it became exhausting for him to continue the
fight. November 17, 2018, Chong gave his life to the
Lord. He now finds joy and peace in his eternal home.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Kuk Song Kim,
brother-n-law Joe Lee. He is survived by his loving
wife of 13 years, Kristen S. (Woodworth) Kim; mother,
Hye Cha Kim; father and mother in law Kenneth and
Cheryl Woodworth; siblings Amber Kim, Chong Ho Kim
and wife Wendy, Connie Kim and husband Steve Cho,
brother and sister in law Douglas and Camie Engels.
He was blessed with 10 nieces and nephews; Isaac,
Faith and Nathan Lee, Jasmin and Darian Cho, June,
Geoffrey, and Sora Kim, & Macie and Brenna Engels.
Thank you to the nurses and aides who have come
to care for Chong during his hospital stays at North
Cypress Medical Center and MD Anderson.
Thank you to the staff at Tamlyn and Sons and Apex Oaks at Cypress
for the support and love you have shown The Kim Family.
