Sheri passed into the hands of 0ur Lord on Christmas Eve of 2020. She was born in Minnesota to June and Wallace Nelson and moved to Texas where she graduated from Highland Park High School and then later attended both University of Houston and University of Texas. Sheri was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Si Frazier, and her younger sister Pam. She is survived by Bruce her loving husband of 33 years, her sister Susan Nelson Rohmam m, her beloved nephews Jimmy Nelson and Nelson Kittler who gave her great joy, and other family/extended family in Houston and Mississippi dear to her heart.
Sheri was a high-energy, loving, compassionate, and faithful friend always thinking of other's needs and wants ahead of her own. She had a great thirst for knowledge and a huge capacity for love. She was gifted in writing prose and poetry, song lyrics, singing and playing the guitar. Most of her career was spent with non-profit organizations primarily as a writer or other creative services. She served as Assistant to the Director of Development at the Stehlin Foundation, the Museum of Fine Arts, St Luke's Hospital and The Texas Institute of Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR).
Chronic pain from six fused vertebrae and multiple other physical ailments are now gone and she has joined loved ones in Heaven to continue with other angels. Her Spirit and Light still thrives in those who loved her: she has been released from mortal bonds and is at peace.
Due to Covid concerns a Memorial will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances please make a donation in her name to a charity of your choice, or say a prayer for her new journey . Some of Sheri's favorite charities included St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the Parkinson's Foundation, and Doctors without Borders
