On the morning of Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, Cherry June (Ford) Blanchard, left the arms of her family peacefully in her sleep and was welcomed into the arms of her Lord with the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

June was born on January 16, 1951, in Beaumont, Texas, to Emmett L. Ford and Cherry Lindsey Ford.  June grew up in Beaumont with her mother, father, and two brothers, Bertis L. Ford and Kenneth Wayne Ford, where she attended French High School.  She was an avid horse lover and also participated in the Buffalo Belles at French High School.  June married her high school sweetheart in 1970, Hugh Steven Blanchard, and they were married for 56 years.  Shortly after they married, they moved to Houston, Texas.  They were blessed with two children; their daughter, Kyle Blanchard McLeod, and their son, Brian Steven Blanchard; and three grandchildren, Robert Steven McLeod, Garrett Aaron McLeod, and Caitlin Tu Vy Blanchard. June was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, and came to be known as Nana to both her grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews.

While June's first passion was her family, her second passion was real estate and helping families, especially first-time homebuyers, achieve the dream of homeownership.  June became a realtor in Friendswood, Texas in 1974.  After many successful years as a realtor, she transitioned to new home sales with David Weekley Homes.  In 1991, June became a mortgage loan officer, a career that spanned almost 30 years, including numerous awards, from which she retired in 2019.

June and Hugh returned to their family church home, Emmanuel Episcopal Church, in 2016.  After her retirement in 2019, she was able to more fully devote her time to the church, where she was on the Altar Guild, and support her two favorite ministries - Gracewood–Houston and Lord of The Streets (LOTS) Houston, but most importantly, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  June had a very strong sense of purpose in her life and leaves a wonderful legacy of love and service to her family, profession and church family.

June is preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Bertis; her in-laws, Thomas Harry Blanchard and Raye N. Holland Blanchard; her brothers-in-law, Tommy Reynold Blanchard, James Mark Blanchard, and William "Bill" L. Adair.

June is survived by her husband, Hugh Blanchard, daughter Kyle and son-in-law Charles McLeod, son Brian Blanchard, grandchildren Robert McLeod, Garrett McLeod and Caitlin Blanchard; brother Wayne Ford and sister-in-law Carol; sisters-in-law Cheryll Blanchard Adair, Tamara Blanchard Reed and brother-in-law W. R. "Dub" Reed; Aunt Patricia Lindsey Free and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, from 6:00-8:00pm at Klein Funeral Home (Cypress) 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065.

A celebration of June's life will be held on Thursday, August 13 at 10:00am, with a reception to follow, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 3785 Barker Cypress Rd. Houston, TX 77084, with the Committal/Interment at 3:30pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4955 Pine St., Beaumont, TX 77703.
