Charlyn Margaret Bogs
Charlyn was born on July 20, 1930 to Charles and Constance Grisbee . She was their second, of two children, behind her sister, Inez. She grew up in Cypress, Texas and attended Cy Fair Schools where she graduated Cypress-Fairbanks High School in 1948, after being voted "most beautiful" by her senior class. She graduated from South Texas Jr. College in 1950 with an Associate of Arts. She married Charles Bogs in 1953, and had two children, Barry Lynn (July 1957) and Jana Dee (October 1959). She divorced in the mid 1980's. She wore many hats in her life, as most folks do. She was a daughter, sister, student, office worker, wife, mother, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother, friend, neighbor, seamstress, care giver, VBS teacher, volunteer, and a Christian, but most importantly a servant for the Lord. Her faith in Jesus never wavered. She loved her family and was devoted to them. She was an accomplished seamstress and shared those talents with many, by the gifts and clothing she made and gave to others. Her sewing talents extended to her mission work as well. After joining First Baptist Church in Houston, she volunteered at their benevolent center for many years. She would take home donated, damaged clothing, repair it, and return it to "the closet". Then she would help distribute, to the needy, those same articles that she had mended as well as other articles that had been donated. After moving to Spring, she volunteered at Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) for years. She was always so grateful for anything that others did for her. In her later years, she would kiss the caregiver's hands many times, to express her thankfulness, if she could not speak the words. She will be missed by her family and those who loved her.
