Charlotte Harris Brautigam passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Herman Hospital on November 19, 1949, in Houston, Texas, and devoted her life to family and serving others.
Charlotte was married to the love of her life, Leonard Brautigam, for 51 years. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. She was a devoted mother of Angie Brautigam Lucas and Matt Brautigam and a proud, loving Nana to five beautiful grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Charlotte was a devout Catholic, baptized at Houston's East Side Resurrection Catholic Church. She received her first communion and confirmation from Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She attended Catholic schools her entire life graduating from St. Pius High School in 1968. Charlotte's desire to become a nurse led her to receive a degree in Nursing from North Harris College. She was a nurse in the St. Luke's Hospital OR, at MacGregor Clinic, and in Cypress Fairbanks ISD. During her 20-year school nursing career, she worked at Holmsley Elementary, Bleyl Middle School, and Cy-Creek High School. She especially loved helping and supporting students with special needs.
Charlotte is survived by her husband Leonard Brautigam, daughter Angie Lucas and husband Cory, son Matt and wife Amanda, grandchildren Cameron Lucas and wife Katie, Rebecca Lucas, Beau Brautigam, Brynnley Brautigam and Brylee Brautigam, sister Judy Schatte and husband Brian, and brother-in-law Jim Shaw, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Pauline Harris and sister Susan Harris Shaw.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 5, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, Texas 77065. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 19222 Tomball Parkway, Houston, Texas 77070 at 10:30 am. The burial will take place after the funeral mass at Klein Memorial Park, 14711 Cypress N. Houston Rd, Cypress, TX 77429.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charlotte Brautigam's memory to one of the following: Prince of Peace Catholic Church Mercy Center, the Cy-Fair Education Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
