Charles (Charlie) Wist's Obituary
Charles (Charlie) Wist was born October 24, 1949 in Oakland, California to Charles Bernard Wist and Eva Lopez Wist. He passed away on August 30, 2019 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelors in Business Administration and joined the U.S. Navy and served for one year. Following a move to Houston, Charlie received his law degree from the South Texas College of Law and his Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Houston Law School. He was also a Certified Public Accountant. Charlie established his law practice in Houston and served his numerous clients for over 35 years in the areas of corporate law, taxation, and estate planning.
Charlie, beloved husband, is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn. He was a caring and loving father to his two daughters, Ann Wist Langdon and Michelle Wist and also to his son-in-law, Jack Langdon. He was "always there" for his brother, John Wist, and wife, Carla; sister, Susan Bell; brother, Steve Bell; and sister, Linda Bell Walker and husband, Mark, in addition to numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Charlie will be so missed by his many friends and clients that he served so faithfully and diligently over the years. His intelligence, loyalty, generosity, and humor were inspiring. He will be forever loved.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030 , or to a charity of your choice.
All are invited to a graveside committal service at 10am, Monday, September 23, 2019 at Klein Memorial Park, 14711 Cypress N. Houston, Cypress, TX 77429.
Following the committal service a reception will be held from 11-1 at Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church at 11507 Huffmeister Rd., Houston, Texas 77065.
