Charles Harold Roberman was born in Lawrence, KS, and graduated from the University of Kansas in 1960.  At KU he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa.

He worked at Boeing, then Control Data, and has lived in Houston for the last 39 years, working with his good friend at Vector Technology, where he was an executive vice president until he retired.  He was married to his college sweetheart, Juliane Dunning in 1958, and stayed married until her death in 1999.  He was blessed again to marry a former colleague, Janice Patterson, in January, 2001, who was his traveling companion and life partner until his passing Dec 31, 2017.

Charlie loved a good laugh, his KU basketball team, and was delighted to see an Astros championship this last season.  He was very active, playing tennis three or more times a week, and golfing once a week, and stayed sharp by solving the daily crossword puzzles and sudokus.  He was a very fine bowler, bridge player, and at one time blackjack player, and more recently enjoyed taking cruises with his lovely wife.  He also enjoyed his children and grandchildren, and got a real thrill from being invited by his daughter to see some Texas A&M football games.  He wished Kyle Field had seen more wins.

Although he battled prostate cancer for over fifteen years, his friends and family were impressed with his positive attitude, and, with the help and encouragement of his wife, amazing compliance with difficult dietary restrictions and medications.  He was a steady loving influence to his friends and family, and will be sorely missed.
He is preceded in death by his son Charles David and Kenneth James.

He is survived by his wife, Jan, children Lawrence (wife Susan), Bruce, Lori Whitmire (husband Jeff), Chris Patterson (wife Sara), Andy Patterson (wife Meghan) and daughter-in-law Giselle, and sisters Irene Blom (husband Jim), Grace Ellis (husband J.C.), and Charlene Reynolds (husband Nate).  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless friends.
