Charles Eldon Rasberry

June 7, 1941 – June 18, 2026

Charles Eldon Rasberry, 85, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026. Eldon, as he preferred to be called, was a loving husband, dad, and Papa. Eldon is survived by his wife, Lois Johlke Rasberry. Eldon and Lois married July 1, 1978 in Magnolia, Texas. They lived many years in Decker Prairie with their children Cary and Caryn, keeping livestock and growing large gardens. Foremost, Eldon was a truck driver, covering many miles on the road in his 45 years of driving. His favorite route was to head west on I-10, enjoying the sites of open land and thinking about how the cowboys of old times used to live. Because of his emerging health issues, Eldon stopped driving in 2007, but he could still tell you the best route to get somewhere using the map in his head.

Other jobs Eldon held included working as a security guard at Tomball High School 2008-2014, yard foreman at McCauley Lumber, and many other roles and side jobs that displayed his never-ending knowledge about home repair, cars, farming, and building decks and fences. To know Eldon was to know that he worked hard every day of his life and instilled those values to others. All of his family knew that they could call him for any advice, especially on how to make a repair or understand a car problem. Usually, though, he would just show up, ready to fix the problem.

Eldon and Lois are long-standing members at Kleinwood church of Christ in Spring, Texas. Eldon loved to hear and sing gospel songs, especially "I'll Fly Away", "Amazing Grace", and "The Old Rugged Cross." Eldon and Lois enjoyed their church family, and they are so grateful for all of the calls and care shown to them throughout his health issues.

Additionally, Lois would like to thank the team at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball for their top-quality level of care and kindness to Eldon and his family throughout his numerous hospital stays.

Eldon is survived by his wife, Lois; his sons, Charles, Randy, and Myron; his daughter, Caryn; and sisters, Juda and Barbara. Eldon was preceded in death by his sons, Gary and Cary; his daughter, Cynthia; parents, Homer and Verdell; sister, Wyona; and brothers, Joe and Dennis. Additionally, Eldon had many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and extended family whom he loved and guided over his very long life. We all know that we will miss those early morning phone calls, especially when it was your birthday. May we all continue to carry him in our hearts.
