Charles Daniel McArthur, known to friends and family as "Dan" or "Danny", passed away after a brief illness on October 5, 2017 at the age of 78.

Dan is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan McArthur, two children, his son, Mark McArthur and wife, Valerie of San Antonio, Texas and Daughter, Missy Nowell and husband, Mark Nowell of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Dan has eight grandchildren, Danielle Nowell Wheat, Brandon and Blake Nowell, Cody, Kyle, and Marc McArthur and Emma and Augie Trevino. Dan also has one living brother, Hal McArthur.



Dan grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. He attended William Fleming High School graduating in 1958. He received his Bachelors of Science in Business at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute in1963 and his Masters of Business Administration from Xavier University in 1967.

Dan's corporate career spanned almost six decades starting at General Motors in the 60's. He was a pioneer in the Total Quality Management (TQM) movement in North America; leading and directing many Fortune 500 Corporations to produce higher quality goods and services. Dan was the Director of Quality for several corporations, a Quality Consultant for Coopers and Lybrand and with the late C. Jackson Grayson to form the American Productivity and Quality Center Consulting Group. He was an industry leader, a corporate consultant and the author of two books. He had the honor of serving on the boards of numerous organizations, the last being the president of his local HOA.

Dan always focused on the positive and gave no time to the negative. He had the ability to make everyone feel special, taking time to get to know them, and genuinely cared about them. There was always a smile on his face that would light up a room and he was never at a loss for words.

Dan's greatest accomplishment of all was how much he loved his wife, Susie. Their love for each other and their marriage grew stronger for more than 56 years. They were high school sweethearts, best friends, soul mates and exemplified a loving example of how a marriage could be to all those who knew them.

A celebration of Dan's life will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, October 12, 2017. The services will be held at Klein Funeral Homes and Memorial Parks, 12400 W. Main, Tomball, Texas 77375, (281) 351-7233, David Sumlin officiating. A reception directly following the service will be held at Raveneaux Country Club at 9415 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas 77379.
