Charles E. (Chuck) Marcotte, our amazing and devoted husband, father, grandfather, sibling and friend to many, went to be with Jesus on November 10, 2016, at the age of 81. Chuck was born on July 23, 1935, and was baptized shortly thereafter on October 5, 1935, at St. James Church in Birmingham, MI. Chuck grew up in Michigan and North Carolina until he attended and graduated from Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, FL. in 1953, where he was awarded the gold medal for the Best Drilled Cadet. Chuck further demonstrated his honorable service to our country in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959, reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
On September 10, 1960, Chuck married Jacqueline Pickard Marcotte, the love of his life, and remained happily married to her for over 56 years until his heavenly homecoming. Chuck attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business in September of 1963. Chuck began his career with Exxon in Charlotte, NC, and demonstrated dedication, commitment, and excellence for 30 years until his retirement with Exxon in Houston, TX in 1994.
Chuck is the son of the late Charles H. Marcotte and Corrine K. Marcotte, the brother of the late Merry E. Marcotte and Sallie M. Carey, the father of Thomas C. Marcotte and the late Merry A. Marcotte, the father-in-law of Celani E. Marcotte, and grandfather (Papa) of Sadie M. Marcotte. Chuck is also survived by numerous other extended family members on both sides of the family.
