Obituary

Charles (Sonny) Landeche, 77, of Tomball, passed away February 5th, 2024. He was born in Orange, Texas on April 2nd, 1946, to the late Alphonse and Lona (DeRouen) Landeche. Sonny retired after working many years as a carpenter for the Tellepsen Companies. He could build and fix anything, give him an idea and he would build it.

Sonny was a loving husband, father, pawpaw, and great pawpaw. He savored life, finding joy in days spent fishing, whether he reeled in a catch or not. The days on the water were always good ones for him. He had a passion for barbecuing, rustling up delicious ribs, stuffed jalapeno poppers and his smoked oysters on the grill. He held a deep love for his children, grandchildren, and extended family, leaving a lasting impact on their lives. Through his captivating stories, humor-filled jokes, and playful pranks, he brought joy and laughter to those around him. His presence was a source of warmth and fond memories that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his family circle.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Landeche of Tomball Tx, daughter Lisa Blanchard of Tomball, Tx, daughter Lori Simmons (Barry) of Manvel, Tx., son Charles Gregory Landeche (Sonia) of Weimar, Tx, granddaughters Tayler Blanchard, Kaylee Landeche and Madison Landeche, grandsons Blain Blanchard, Myles Simmons, and Sam Simmons.

Sonny also shared an extended family, stepdaughter, Shelly Jenks stepson's, Robert Gannaway (Sonja) and Ronny Gannaway (Stephanie), granddaughters Samantha Denton, Melinda Gannaway, Shelby (Gabriel) Walker, grandsons Phillip Ellis, Kaleb Garza, Dylan Gannaway, Derrick Gannaway, and great grandkids Kaylee, Bradley, Justin, Marceleen, Kate and Hadleigh.

Sisters Helen Lambard (Butch) of Mobile, AL, Margaret "Molly" Ley (Mike) of San Antonio, Tx, twelve nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents Alphonse and Lona (DeRouen) Landeche, brothers Albert Mitchell Landeche, John Larry Landeche and sister Jacqueline Ann Soos.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 1:00PM to 2:00PM and Memorial Service will follow at 2:00PM at Klein Funeral Home – Tomball, 1400 West Main, Tomball, Tx. 77375. There will be a reception following the service at the Landeche Family home.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and in the coming spring, his immediate family will gather to scatter his ashes in the private lake where his son resides—a place that held special meaning for him, where the bond of family and the joy of fishing were cherished. In honoring his memory, we find solace in knowing he will forever be a part of the waters he loved.
