CHARLES TINSLEY KIRKPATRICK, born April 13, 1928 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to W. Clifton and Margaret "Maggie" Bottom Kirkpatrick, died April 8, 2022. His funeral will beheld April 13, which would have been his 94th birthday.
Mr. Kirkpatrick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 42 years Janice Mary Duncan, his sister Maggie Kirkpatrick Snow, brother-in-law R. Max Snow, nephews Patrick M. Duncan, Jr. and Kirk D. Snow, and beloved pets Waldo and Lambchop.
A longtime resident of The Woodlands, Texas, Mr. Kirkpatrick was a graduate of Walnut Ridge (Arkansas) High School and of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. After graduation he worked as a coach at the Clover Bend (Arkansas) High School, which, as part of a New Deal program to promote development in rural America, is now on the National Register of Historic Places. During his subsequent career of 33 years in the insurance industry he worked in positions of increasing responsibility for The Equitable in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Houston, Texas.
Never forgetting his early days in Northeast Arkansas, Mr. Kirkpatrick was an active participant in Clover Bend School reunions and a seemingly inexhaustible source of information about local personalities and events of the 1930's and 1940's. He was a faithful contributor to the Snow Cemetery where his sister, parents, maternal grandparents, and other relatives are buried.
Family and friends were very important for Mr. Kirkpatrick, a warm and generous person who was much loved by all who knew him. He was survived by his daughter Carol Labiosa and her husband Glenn of Houston; son Bob Kirkpatrick and wife Maggie of Houston; son Timothy Kirkpatrick and wife Leisa of Sienna, grandchildren Sean and wife Marie, Ryan and wife Mary Carol, Megan, Shannon, and Molly, and great grandchild Averie; son Michael Kirkpatrick and wife Cora of Washington, DC, grandchildren John Seamus and Liam; and nephew Steve Snow and wife Betty of Hudsonville, Michigan.
