Charles T. Holloway

December 31, 1937 – June 24, 2024

Charles T. Holloway, 86, of Spring, Texas, was welcomed home and received into the arms of Jesus on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Charles was born on December 31, 1937, in Jena, Louisiana, to Mary Elizabeth (Stone) Holloway and Thomas Jefferson Holloway.

He is survive by his two daughters and their spouses; Kim Jones and Raymond Jones and Charisse Simmons and Russell Simmons; six grandchildren: Daniel Hembree, Brittany Simmons, Rachael Hembree, Crystal Hembree, Josh Simmons and Lara Ridenour; and five great grandchildren: Aubree Hembree, Brayden Hembree, Zalen LeDoux, Knoxxli Hall and Luke Charles Simmons. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Holloway, and his grandson, Jonathan Simmons.

Charles graduated high school from Ballinger High School in Ballinger, Texas. Immediately after high school, he moved to Midland and became a Police Officer. In the late 1950's Charles met and married the love of his life, Jane (Clarkston) Holloway. In 1960, the couple had their first child, Kim, and in 1965 their second child, Charisse. In December of 1971, the Holloway family moved from Austin to Houston and began a lifelong career in the title insurance business. In 1999, Charles retired from title insurance and a few years later began working as a Crossing Guard for Klein ISD, serving Brill Elementary. Charles loved his time as a Crossing Guard. This wasn't just a job; this was truly a God directed life experience for him that proved to influence not only his life, but the children and families of Champion Forest and Brill Elementary, in the most meaningful way. The connections he made, and the love he felt for and from that community, held a special place in his heart for the remainder of his life. Charles retired from Klein ISD in August of 2023 and spent the past few months walking in the park, feeding the birds, ducks and wildlife, fishing, and spending time with family.

Charles was loved by everyone that knew him. He was funny, cheerful, always optimistic and he loved to laugh. He brought his bright light, full of life, to every gathering. He was sharp, quick-witted and had the most beautiful blue eyes that were full of love and compassion!! He lived a life full of integrity and passed on his great moral character to children, grandchildren and without a doubt, generations to come. He made a forever difference in the lives of his family. There isn't a single one of us that would be the person we are, had it not been for his influence, guidance and character. His last words to his family were "take care of yourself" - at a time when many would be focused of themselves - he was thinking of us!! There are no words that are sufficient to describe the man, husband, father, grandfather, and friend that he truly was!!
