Charles Goeking, Jr passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30. Born March 24, 1939 in Burton, Texas, Charles was the youngest child of Charles and Annie Goeking. He graduated from Austin High School in May 1957 and was a member of the high school basketball team that went to the state finals in 1957. After high school, he spent six months on active duty in the Army at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. After returning to Austin, he entered the University of Texas, majoring in Chemistry. It was there he met and married Carol Mae Wyckoff on August 29,1959.

After graduating, Charles accepted a position with Union Carbide in their Analytical Chemistry division at the Oak Ridge Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Charles completed his graduate work at the University of Tennessee in 1966. While living in Tennessee, he and Carol welcomed both of their children, Kent and Sandra. In 1967, they moved back to Texas and settled in Pasadena as Charles began work at the Houston Research Laboratory for Shell Oil Company.

While living in Pasadena, Charles became active in the Jaycees. In 1971, he was elected President of the local chapter and at the state convention in Amarillo that year, he was selected as an Outstanding President for the State of Texas. In 1974, the family moved to the northwest side of Houston as Charles transferred to the Shell Westhollow Research Center.

Charles and Carol were avid travelers and visited all the far corners of the world. Favorite destinations included Germany, Ireland, and England along with trips to China and Southeast Asia.

He will be deeply missed by his family; his son Kent Goeking and his wife Mena Boonchu Goeking of Bangkok, Thailand; his daughter Sandra Cameron and husband Todd Cameron of Dublin, Ohio; and grandchildren Scott Cameron, Megan Cameron, Max Dekle, and Kris Goeking along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, and his two siblings.

A funeral service for Charles will be held at 11am on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Klein Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 9714 FM2920, Tomball, Tx 77375 .  He will be laid to rest immediately following the service.
