Services for Charles Albert Eldridge, 86, of Houston are set for 10 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018, at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive in Spring, Texas. Burial services will follow at 1:15 p.m. at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive. Eldridge died March 3, 2018, in Houston Texas after a long illness.

A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Eldridge was a Petroleum Geologist employed by Standard Oil of California, Chevron, Mitchell Energy and Brock Petroleum before becoming self-employed. His career had him residing in Midland, Oklahoma City, Corpus Christi, and New Orleans before eventually settling in the Houston Area where he lived for more than forty years and where his two children attended schools in the Klein School District. Pastimes he enjoyed included Tennis and Golf with friends and neighbors.

Eldridge became a United States Marine, rising to the rank of Sargent, enlisting shortly after graduating from Central High School in McMinnville, Tennessee, in 1950. After the Marine Corps, he attended the University of Kentucky where he received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees. While at the University of Kentucky, Eldridge met and eventually married his wife of 60 years, Betty (Gaskin). He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He was the son of Tommye Carla Eldridge and Charles David Eldridge, Survivors include his spouse, Betty Eldridge; Son, Charles (Chuck) Allen Eldridge and his wife Carrie of Houston; Daughter Caryn Hall and husband, Willard, of Beaumont, Texas; Sister Ann Huttner of Noblesville, Tennessee as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
