Obituary

At 6:41 PM on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Charles Kenneth Donalson passed peacefully in the welcoming arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Charles is survived in this life by his loving wife, Linda, daughter Kim and husband Mark, son Greg and wife Natalie, daughter Candi and husband Ron, and son Jeremy.  Grandchildren Allyson, Caitlyn, AnnaGrace and husband Kyle, Sydney, Micah, Charli, Scout, Gage, and Mia, and great granddaughter Louisa.  Brothers Alton and Bobby.  Preceded in death by his parents Barney and Bertie Donalson, brother James, George and J.T. and sisters Juanita and Bonnie. Charles was born February 9th, 1937 to Barney and Bertie Donalson in Orange, TX. At the age of 14 his family moved to Houston where Charles became a charter member of Woodsdale Church of the Nazarene.  While Charles attended Woodsdale, the pastor was Reverend Archie Johnson and his wife was Maxine Johnson.  This is where he met his future bride, Linda Johnson.  They were married July 2nd, 1966.  They were married for 55 wonderful years growing their family with Kim, Greg, Candi and Jeremy. At the age of 19, Charles and his brother Alton formed Donalson Brothers Plumbing Company.  From 1976 - 2007, Charles was the sole owner of Donalson Brothers Plumbing.  Although plumbing was his life for over 30 years, his family was his passion. For 42 years he has been a faithful member of the Crossing Church of the Nazarene.  During this time he served on the church board, usher, collection counter and hamburger flipper extraordinaire during church picnics.  For leisure time he slept through family movie times, put together puzzles and played countless games of dominoes with family and friends. Charles had a big heart that was sensitive to the Lord's direction in helping others.  He loved opening up his home to others as much as his wife did.  He was truly loved and will be greatly missed until we are reunited with Christ Jesus.

A celebration of Charles' life will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Living Word Church of the Nazarene, 16607 Clay Road, Houston, TX 77084.
