Charles Ray Cobb, lovingly known as Butch, was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on November 29, 1943. His family later moved to Freeport, Texas, where he graduated from Brazosport High School.

In 1964, Charles joined the United States Air Force and proudly served in the Strategic Air Command until 1968. He carried the skills and knowledge he gained during his military service into a career as a computer serviceman, working in the computer industry for more than 20 years.

In 1971, Charles and his wife, Rita, moved to Houston, Texas, where they raised their two children, Michelle and David. His experience in the computer industry eventually led to a 10-year career with Aramco, where he served as the head of their communications team.

Charles retired in 2004, and he and Rita moved to Brenham, Texas, where they enjoyed their retirement years together. In 2025, they moved to Cypress, Texas, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Charles was a man who could fix just about anything. He loved working with his hands and was happiest repairing cars, boats, and anything with a motor. He especially enjoyed sharing his talents and his time with his family. His grandchildren will remember the tractor rides, the adventures, and the spectacular fires he built for s’mores and hot dog roasts. These simple moments became treasured memories that his family will carry with them always.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Rita; daughter Michelle and son-in-law Jason; son David and daughter-in-law Salli; grandchildren Morgan, Maggie, Molly, Camryn, Carson, and Cassidy; and great-grandson Emmett. He is also survived by his sisters, Anita and Becky; brother, Joel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend—a man who was always willing to lend a hand, fix what was broken, and make memories with the people he loved. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched.
