Charles David Bartley, of Houston, Texas, passed away on October 27, 2018.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10AM at Klein Funeral Home located at 9719 Wortham Blvd. Houston, TX 77065.
Known as Charles or Chuck to his colleagues and friends and Charlie to his family, he was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on August 1, 1950. He went to Stephen F. Austin University and graduated with a degree in Economics.
Charlie began his career selling health insurance and later in life transferred to assisting people with their retirement plans. Working in sales was the perfect career for Charlie since he enjoyed meeting new people and talking to them about their families and hobbies.
Charlie enjoyed playing golf, flying kites, racing remote control cars and playing pool with friends and family. Charlie's gift was giving joy to others through his smile, his practical jokes, and his generosity. His hobbies drew his neighbors to him, and entertained the children he so loved to see.
Diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2006 and then with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2015; Charlie's enduring sense of humor got him through the challenges he faced with these diseases. Always ready to have some fun, Charlie decorated his walker with lights and would take children for a ride. Only Charlie could make a joke out of a hospital spit bag!
Charlie is survived by his wife, Lisa of 16 years; two children, Collin and his wife, Jennifer; Connor and his wife, Wyndi; 6 grandchildren (Caden, Adalyn, Caleb, Brynna, Cole and Coen); 4 siblings, Ginger Williams, Gary (Madelynn), Sam (Ouida) and Janine Riveire (Richard); many nieces and nephews and many friends. He will be missed.
