Cecilia  Greene, 87, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at her home in Magnolia Texas where she was in the care and presence of her loving family.

Cecilia was born December 28, 1931 in Long Harbour, Newfoundland, Canada.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, James T. Greene; her parents, Thomas and Cecily Murphy; and her siblings, Aloysius, Alphonsus, Anslem, Bridget, Dennis, Gertrude, Katherine, Michael, Monica and Thomas.

She is survived by her children, Jamie Moses and husband Lonnie, Jackie Lane and husband David, Judy Monacy and husband Gary, Tom Greene, Linda Aleman, and Debbie Douglas; her grandchildren Jeff, Jeremy, Jason, Amber, Stephen, Christopher, Amanda, Jarred, Jordan, Hailey, Kyndal, Kaylin, Kyle, Jason and Robin, along with their spouses and significant others; her great-grandchildren Owen, Revan, Ashley, Kaleb, Sadie, Abigail, Sawyer, Charlotte, Gage, Danica, Delaney, Wilder, Paisley, and baby Runa Cecily Thornton on the way; her great-great-grandchildren Kinsley and Macey; her siblings Anthony Murphy and Genevieve Keating; and  numerous nieces and nephews. Her dog PePe, a constant loving companion, always by her side.

Cecilia and James were married March 5, 1959 in North Carolina and eventually settled in Texas.  She loved knitting, baseball, cooking, playing cards, singing, and spending time outdoors. Above all else, she loved spending time with and caring for her family.  She enjoyed sharing stories of her childhood growing up on the island in Newfoundland and attending the various activities her children and grandchildren were involved in. Known to everyone as grandma, she will be missed by the many who's lives she touched.

There will be a private family ceremony where she will be laid to rest with her loving husband at Houston National Cemetery.
