Cecil Jennings Machalek
March 6, 1944 – September 9, 2024
Cecil Machalek, 80, passed away quietly and peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024 surrounded by his wife and children.
Cecil was born on March 6, 1944 in Corpus Christi, TX the son of Frank Machalek and Wilma Sodek Machalek.
On October 1, 1966, Cecil married the love of his life, Anna Marie Beyer at Holy Trinity Church in Corn Hill, Texas. Cecil had never heard of Corn Hill before he met Anna. He was worried that his relatives would not come to the wedding because they wouldn't be able to find it. Boy was he surprised. They were all there.
Cecil was a loving husband for almost 58 years, a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed going camping with his daughters exploring the surroundings and making up stories. He loved playing ball with his grandchildren, taking them for day trips to lake, and especially taking them to the park which the grandchildren said had some really cool play equipment.
Cecil always liked tinkering with cars, old cars that were not street worthy, and make them up, not original but a thing of beauty to behold.
Cecil is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Wilma. He is survived by his loving wife Anna and daughters Sandra Korenek (husband Phil) of Kingwood and Peggy Harville (husband Stan) of The Woodlands. He is also survived by his brother Patrick Machalek (wife Mary) of Del Valle. Cecil is blessed with five grandchildren Dwight (wife Audney), Katie, Kirby, Travis and Emma and two great-grandchildren Tilden and Wimberly.
Funeral will be Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Spring, TX with Rosary at 10:00 and Mass at 10:30. Interment will be at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown, TX
