Catherine Hall went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2020 due to complications from a stroke.

Catherine Anne McDowell was born in January, 1935 to Verna and Norwood McDowell in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Kittie, as she was called since she was a child, grew up in Magnolia, Mississippi and New Iberia, Louisiana with her two younger sisters Jeannette and Lucretia. At age 4 Kittie was crowned Little Miss Magnolia of 1939. In 1953, her senior year at Mount Carmel High School, she was the senior class secretary, the student council secretary and a majorette. Kittie attended LSU and earned her degree in Secondary Education and later earned her Masters in Education. While attending LSU she pledged Delta Gamma Sorority.  In February, 1957 she married Daniel Hall in Woodville, MS. They were married for 30 years and together raised three beautiful girls, Catherine, Leslie and Danna.

Kittie lived a full life as a wonderful mother, friend and teacher. For many years she taught at Arnold Jr. High and loved looking after her 6th graders. She retired from teaching many years ago but never lost touch with her good friends from Arnold. In addition to a lifelong career in education Kittie loved to travel. From entertaining her teacher friends in Carmel-by-the-Sea to cruising the Yangtze River her adventurous spirit led her from the Congo to Kuwait with many countries in between. Later in life she treasured her cruises and fall "leaf peeping" trips with her girl friends. Outside of planning her next trip, Kittie planned her days around sports. A life-long sports fan, Kittie loved watching her LSU Tigers football team, the Houston Astros, and the Oilers/Texans.

Several years ago, she reluctantly sold her home and moved into Solana Preserve where she quickly realized the benefits of living in an active community.  She enjoyed meeting for breakfast and dinner everyday and never missed the daily afternoon gatherings with her new companions.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was paramount and was the foundation of her life. Kittie attended Champion Forest Baptist Church for the last 40 years and loved her Sunday School friends dearly. She was faithful to her weekly bible study group and drew great comfort from her study of the scriptures. Her last international trip, a trip of a lifetime, led her to the Holy Land with members of her church.  Through Champion Forest Kittie developed lifelong friendships that extended outside the church into weekly dinners complete with playing card games and dominos.

Kittie leaves behind her sister Jeannette Dietlein; her sister and husband Lucretia and John Duvall; her daughter and husband Catherine and Steve Glick; her daughter and husband Leslie and Tom Frye; her daughter and husband Danna and Mike Kelm; her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson, David Chapman. Kittie loved her family and instilled in her girls strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
