It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Casmer Allie Bashinski's passing. Affectionately known as "Junior" or "Cas" to his family and friends, he was a kind and gentle spirit who will be profoundly missed. A proud native of Houston, he was born to Kie and Sophie Bashinski on April 6, 1935. Cas grew up with modest beginnings, delivering the Chronicle as a paperboy, often reminiscing fondly about his old neighborhood. After graduating from Jeff Davis High School, he began his career at Hughes Tool and cared for his parents until their passing.

Cas had a passion for polka music, frequently traveling to small dance halls across Texas with friends to enjoy live bands. He was a devoted husband to Deanna, whom he married in April 1972, and together they moved to Spring, where they raised two daughters. He became a cornerstone of both the community and St. Edward Parish as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was passionate about his family, as well as his family history and genealogy, reading about the Civil War and World War II, keeping up with friends, watching old westerns, and cheering on his Astros.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy, as well as his treasured canine companions, Butch and Sparky.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deanna M. Bashinski; his daughters, Susan Bashinski and Karen Norman; and his most treasured grandchildren, Eppe Norman, Bo Norman, and Hudson Kie Bashinski-Wehner.

A visitation, rosary, and funeral mass at St. Edward's will celebrate his life on January 13, 2025.
