Carrol Joan Darland of Magnolia, Texas was born in St. Maries, Idaho on June 13, 1937 to James Albert Jelinek and Gladys May Stevens. She died at the age of 83 on February 17, 2021 in Tomball, Texas.

Carrol married Richard Duane Darland in Payette, Idaho on December 15, 1956. They were married 50 years before Richard's passing in 2007.

In August of 2009, Carrol was blessed to become baptized by her son Rick Darland.

Carrol enjoyed reading. She loved going to the beach with her children. She liked spending her summers with her family and friends in the mountains of California, Oregon, and Idaho. She spent most weekends shopping with her daughters and granddaughters. She loved spending time at the lake. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her loving family.

She is preceded in death by husband, Richard Darland (2007) and grandson, Richard Otts (2008).

Carrol is survived by her brother Jimmy and his wife Barbara Jelinek of Sandpoint, Idaho. Carrol was the proud mother to four children: Rick Darland and wife Cyndi of Princeton, Texas; Ron Darland and fiancé Michelle of Magnolia, Texas; Shelly Coats and husband Cliff of Alvord, Texas; Julie Yandell and husband Jerry of Lakehills, Texas.
Loving Grammy to her grandchildren: Amber (Ken) Coffel of Texas, Ashley (Mark) Guerrero of Texas, Heather (Zach) Spain of Texas, Chanel Otts of Texas, Charmane (Bryan) Johnson, of Arkansas, Courtney (Garrett) Archa of Texas, RD (Rachel) Darland of Texas. As well as Step-Grandchildren: Allen, Chris, Caitlyn, Trey and Micayla. She had numerous Great-Grandchildren and soon to be a Great-Great-Grandchild.

Carrol left behind many nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly. She will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her and love her.
