Carolyn Ann Strickland, born November 10 th , 1943 in Inglewood, California left for her eternal home December 16 th , 2022 in Azle, Texas at the age of 79.
As an only child she grew up praying for and dreaming of having a large family, and that dream was realized in five daughters, wonderful son in laws, fourteen grandchildren and soon to be eleven great grandchildren.
She owned Houstonian Gallery (art gallery/custom framing) for 28 years and used her uncanny color sense to turn art into masterpieces, but her greatest joy was in people. She cared and loved unconditionally and would stop what she was doing to grab your hand and pray for you in an instant. Her love and relationship with Christ were what truly made a difference in her as a person and set her apart in this world.
She had impeccable taste and dressed to the nines, never left home without makeup and coordinating outfit, jewelry, shoes and purse. Her smile and dazzling blue eyes drew you in and gave you an instant connection.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Wright and George Strickland as well as great grandson, Andrew Dillehay.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Lisa ( Ronnie ) Segelquist, Shelly Whiles Ashley, Jody (Tom) Roche, Jennifer ( John ) Bulovas and Kimberly (Robert) Nelson.
Her grandchildren, Amanda Cooper, Ashley Segelquist (Eric Smith), Alyssa (Jerry) Cobb, Alexis (Tyler) Anderson, Jonathan Whiles, Madeline Ashley, Katherine (Jake) Johnson, Tyler ( Rachel ) Roche, Camille Roche, Christopher, Matthew and Olivia Bulovas, Braden and Alexandra Wright, Duke, Scarlett and Violette Nelson.
Great grandchildren Avery and Mia Sotelo, Eden Dillehay, Cash Smith, Landen and Trevor Cobb, Everly and Lyla Anderson, Rhett and Savannah Johnson, and baby Banks Smith due February 2023.
In lieu of flowers, Carolyn loved to help others so please consider donating to one of her favorite charities, Legacy or Giving Gowns.
