Carolyn Virginia Shaw's Obituary
?Carolyn V. Shaw was born August 23, 1934, in Ft. Worth, TX, to Floyd and Virginia Roan. She met our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ among a heavenly band of angels, on March 18, after a brief illness.
She was a talented musician who grew up surrounded by the sounds of music as her mother, Virginia, taught private piano and organ lessons. Carolyn took her musical talents and studied at Texas Women's University.
She met the love of her life, Gus David Shaw, on a blind date at their sister school, Texas A&M University. They married in May of 1954, and began a life loving each other and serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ together.
They were blessed with five children, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a Proverbs 31 woman who was dearly loved by family and friends.
Carolyn was an accomplished author publishing children's books, musicals, and award-winning poetry compilations. She published an historic novel in the fall of 2016 called "The Crossing." Her works were all based on her love of God's creation, family, and history. She taught private piano lessons to generations of students and shared her musical talents with many churches as primary organist.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, David Shaw, and their sweet Westie, Dolly; her children, Denise and husband Hank Kaiser, Diana and husband Terry Howard, Suzanne and husband Michael Barker, Mary Beth and husband David Oliver, and Matthew Shaw and wife Michelle; her sister, Marjorie Green; her niece, Linda Wass; her grandchildren, Mary Kay and husband David Logan, Sonny Kaiser and wife Wendy, Carol Anne and husband Chris Flemming, Benjamin Howard and wife Kaitlin, Virginia and husband Javier Salinas, William Howard, Leslie Anne and husband Nick Smith, Lindsey and husband Mathew Mitlyng, Deni and husband Matthew Balak, Bailey Barker, Katy and husband Paul Thomas, Amy Oliver, and Parker Gibson; and her great-grandchildren, Lily and Paul Logan, Emmy, Alex, and Byrdie Kaiser, Claire and Charlotte Flemming, Maisie Howard, Elaine Smith, and Baby Mitlyng.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in the chapel at Kaiserhof Retreat Center, 22610 Tuwa Road, Tomball, TX 77375.
