On July 1st, 2024, Carolyn Ann Luetge of Conroe, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She lost her battle with a prolonged illness which she had fought bravely since 2011.
"Carol" as she was known to family, friends, and colleagues, was born on March 29, 1958, in Bristol, Virginia. Her family would eventually move to Houston, Texas where she would spend the majority of her life. She grew up with many siblings and enjoyed being active with such hobbies as swimming, scuba diving, bowling, and golf. In her later years, she would also enjoy traveling to the casinos in Louisiana to play the slots.
It would be in her bowling league at North Shepherd Lanes that she would meet the love of her life, Mark Luetge, in 1985. They shared many mutual interests and would court for two years before marrying on April 11, 1987, at St. Peter United Church of Christ. Carol and Mark would eventually move to Conroe, Texas for Carol's work and build their permanent family home in 1996. This relocation to Conroe would lead Carol to a 23-year career at Ball Corporation as a QC Inspector where she would eventually retire in 2013.
During their time in Conroe, Carol and Mark would enjoy opening their home to family during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, as well as other special occasions throughout the years. Carol was passionate about her family and enjoyed hosting, cooking, and sharing the vegetable garden that she tended to in her backyard.
Carol was a very warm and loving person who had a very infectious laugh and was quick with a joke or story that would always make you feel good. She was extremely generous and giving and would never turn anyone away who needed help. Carol was also a dog lover and enjoyed being a parent to many fur babies over her lifetime.
Her mother, Mary White, her stepfather Alton White, her brothers Joe, Wayne, Jeff and Steve Johnson, and her in-laws, Harris and Doris Luetge, precede Carol Luetge in death. She is survived by her husband, Mark Luetge, sister-in-law Sharon Patin and husband Patrick, sister Barbara Roark and husband Jay, sister Janie Kane, brother Bobby Johnson, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
A service will be held at Klein Memorial Funeral Home in Magnolia Texas on July 15th, at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Carol's name to the MD Anderson Cancer Center or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
