Carolyn Ann (Bruce) Gossett
Born August 7, 1936, in Shawnee, Oklahoma
Passed away July 7, 2017, in Houston, Texas after
Age 80
Carolyn was raised in a loving, Christian home with her parents Edward Rush Bruce, Jr. and Anna Lois Bruce and her younger brother Ed Bruce, III where she learned to have a love for life, family and friends.
She graduated from North Texas State College in 1958 where she was involved in various organizations, a sorority, as well as Homecoming Queen and a lead cheerleader.
She owned and operated Gossett Insurance Services with her late husband, John Everett Gossett, until they sold it in 1996, due to his illness. She then worked for Gallagher Insurance until she finally decided to retire to have more time to take care of her family and play with her grandchildren.
She has been a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church for over 40 years where she has been involved in the choir, volunteered in the nursery, the prayer room and preparing bulletins for Sunday Worship Service. She participated in the 55+ game nights and was always dancing in the Christmas Pageants. She loved the church and found something to be involved in every time the doors were open. She did this until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease in 2014 and even then, she found a way to come as often as possible.
Carolyn never met a stranger and loved with her whole heart. She always had a smile on her face and an infectious laugh that could only help brighten your day. Her positive outlook and her love for life carried her through both the good and bad that life has to offer. She was loved by so many and will be missed by them as well. May she be healthy once again and rest in peace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Rush Bruce, III and Anna Lois Bruce and her husband John Everett Gossett.
