Carolyn Jean Cress

Carolyn Jean Cress, 86, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, following a brief and unexpected illness.

She was born on January 28, 1940, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to Charles Knapp and Gertrude Patterson. She was raised in Lindsay, Oklahoma, alongside her brother, Bobby Knapp.

In 1958, Carolyn married the love of her life, George Wayne Cress. Together they shared 63 beautiful years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another.

Carolyn was a true woman of Christ and a devoted believer. In 1968, she dedicated her life fully to the Lord and remained steadfast in her faith for the rest of her days. She loved her church and lived her life as a reflection of God's love and grace.

She found joy in cooking, caring for her home, spending time with her beloved husband, and cherishing her two children, Mark and Cathy. Her greatest pride and happiness came from her family.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Mark Cress and his wife Cheryl, and her daughter, Cathy Darneal and her husband Eddie.

She was a loving grandmother to Lindsey Brewer and her husband Collin, and their children Calvin, Winnie, and Mae; Kellie McCormack and her husband Brent, and their children Brooklyn and Brady; Chad Darneal and his wife Kathryn, and their children Steele, Ty, and Bria; Jason Darneal and his wife Leigh Anne, and their children Kayde and Kamdyn; and Steph Scott and her husband Brice, and their children Harper, Hadley, and Graham.

Carolyn's legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will live on in each of them. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
