It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Carolyn Mary Bittner, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. We said goodbye to her on December 4, 2025, at the age of 89.
Carolyn was born June 26,1936, in Baltimore, Maryland to Franklin Shaller and Madeline (Wozniak) Krosnowski. It was there that she met the love of her life, Joseph Jerome Bittner, and where they began their family. Later they would move to Texas where Carolyn would gain a host of new friends.
Carolyn was known to bring a smile and a friendliness to everyone she was in contact with, she never met a stranger and always made others feel welcome. She will be missed for her sassiness and wit. She always kept it interesting because you never knew what she was going to say. But that is what made her unique and kept it exciting.
She had a special place in her heart for all of her many friends and cherished them all. They were like a family to her and meant so much to her in the latter days.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren had the biggest place in her heart and brought her immense joy. Along with them, she cherished the time she spent with her special kids at Link Elementary School in Spring, Texas. She loved them as much as they loved her.
While we will miss her famous Crab Imperial, her wit and love, and sharing her favorite pomegranate martini with her, nothing can take away all of the wonderful memories we shared.
We all love you Nanny.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Franklin Shaller and Madeline (Wozniak) Krosnowski, and her husband of 46 years, Joseph Jerome Bittner.
