Carol Jean Westmoreland passed away October 16, 2018, quietly in her home.

Carol was born July 25, 1949, in Tulsa Oklahoma. The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1960. She graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1967, University of Oklahoma 1971 and the Oklahoma University Law School in 1974.

Carol began her law career in the Family Law area, but was recruited into the Oil and Gas area. She became one of the top lawyers in the field of Oil/Gas contracting. Carol worked for many companies in her chosen field and enjoyed them all.

The family would like to thank Liz Colwell for her love, compassion and dedication to Carol's health during these last seven months. Liz had been an inspiration, companion and understanding advocate for Carol.

Carol is preceded in death by her father, Dee A Westmoreland, her mother, Lita Gildersleeve Westmoreland, and sister Kathy S Westmoreland.

Carol is survived by sister, Lynn and brother in law Rick Day, Niece Dawn C Perkins, her husband Chris, Dawn's children Kyle and Bethany. Nephew Bryan A Day, his wife Barbie Day, Bryan's children Deanna and Ryan and his wife Skyla, their daughter, Adalynn. Three aunts, Elaine Goggins, Mary Rose and Doris Westmoreland. Twenty-four cousins and their families.

In honor of Carol's passion for dogs, the family requests in-lieu of flowers donations be made in her name to the Greater Houston German Shepherd Dog Rescue ( www.ghgsdr.org ) or to the American Cancer Society to help find treatments and cures for this devastating condition.
