Obituary

Carol Ann Lalonde, 74, of Cypress, passed away on January 24, 2026.

Carol was born on January 7, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana to James Minor and Margaret Louise (Kerr) Rausch. She graduated from Archbishop Chapelle High School. While she had various work experiences over the years, the most recent being a co-owner of Comfort Keepers In-Home Care Services with her husband Don, she was primarily, and most proudly, a homemaker, mother, and grandmother throughout her married years.  She most enjoyed spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren.

Earlier in her life Carol was an accomplished dancer dedicating 12 years of tap, ballet, and Jazz dancing at Mr. Anthony's dance studio in New Orleans.  She was very active in Houston's Christ The Redeemer Catholic Church including serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, a member of CTR's Women's ACT retreats team, and a CTR's Women's Retreats participant, a Religious Education volunteer, and enjoying CTR's Classics senior group.  She especially enjoyed participating in CTR's Journey Through Scripture series.  Carol loved traveling, especially throughout Europe.

With all of the above, Carol, will be especially remembered for being a consummate hostess who loved to throw a party, a lifelong fan of the Beatles and Motown, a teacher of dance to her children and grandchildren, a lover of all-things-Mardi Gras, an enthusiastic leader of a Second Line dance, the front row cheerleader and #1 fan at all of her grandchildren's plays, concerts and recitals, always eager for a game of gin rummy, solitaire, or Go-Fish with grandchildren, and a loyal viewer of HGTV and the Great British Bake Off.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, Emile F. Rausch Sr., Rosalie Courtney Rausch, Thomas Kerr, and Nora Voglee Kerr.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald James Lalonde; daughter, Christen "Christy" Lalonde Thomas and husband Mitchell Thomas; son, Aaron Michael Lalonde and wife Jamie Baker Lalonde; grandson, Joshua Patrick Thomas; granddaughter, Amelia Claire Thomas; grandson, Colin William Lalonde; granddaughter, Paige Margot Lalonde; and her brother, Joseph W. Rausch and wife Jackie Rausch.  She also leaves behind multiple loved nieces, grand nieces, nephews, and grand nephews.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the following individuals from Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church: Rev. Sean Horrigan, Deacon Kerry Borque, Director of Liturgy Ofelia Carrasco, and Deacon David Carrasco; Dr. Thomas H. Beckham from M.D. Anderson Proton Therapy Center; Dr. Saba Javed from M.D. Anderson Department of Pain Medicine; and Dr. Adriana Gonzalez from Kelsey Seybold Fairfield Clinic.
