Carol Cecilia Gondolf Jensen was born on March 22,1928 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Carol was an excellent student and broke barriers when she was admitted in the first class of women at the business school at Tulane University. She graduated from Tulane with a BBA in 1947. While at Tulane she met Hans Jensen, a Naval officer just returned from the war in the South Pacific. She and Hans married in 1947 and lived with their 4 children in Pittsburg, Zurich, Sao Paolo, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles before finally calling Houston home. In addition to raising her children, Carol found time to be the President of her local garden club and to volunteer her time at the school library. Carol was a loving wife, a caring mother, a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother, devout Catholic, and a friend to all she met. Her wit and humor will be missed by many.
Carol went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2018. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Norvin & Marie Gondolf; her sister and brother-in-law, Valerie & William Toups; and her husband, Hans Jensen. She is survived by her children and their spouses/partners – Erik & Pat Jensen, Kai & Laurel Jensen, Kim Clifford & Lee Blanton, and Lise & Bill Grenwelge -- as well as her 9 grandchildren and their spouses/partners – Brent & Angela Jensen, Colette & Ben Schwartz, Virginia & Colin Peden, Luke Jensen & Cristina Turowski, Jessica & Scott McKenney, Brittany Holloway & Peter Lopez, Katherine Grenwelge & Joshua Adank, Kristen & J.R. Sydow and Michael Grenwelge & Kristen Bunch -- and 11 great grandchildren -- Gabriella, Otis, James, Thomas, Alma Rose, Ingrid, Ian, Indie, Avlynn, Addison & Carson— and one she loved like a daughter - Leigh St. Germain. Her love and memory will live on forever in the hearts of the many lives she has touched.
