Carol Lee Flammger, daughter of Charles and Crystal Shepherd Higginbotham, was born on April 25, 1937, in Guilford, Missouri. She passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in Magnolia, Texas, at Valiente Senior Living – Assisted Living and Memory Care, surrounded by her family.

Carol spent most of her childhood in Albany, Missouri, before her family moved to St. Joseph, Missouri. She graduated from Benton High School in 1955, where she was a member of the D.D.C. and participated in ROTC.

She was previously married to Grover Campbell, with whom she had three children. He preceded her in death.

In 1973, Carol met the love of her life, Edward S. Flammger, Jr., and the two were married on April 17, 1974. They settled in Houston in 1978, where they shared a wonderful life together.

Carol enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an executive secretary, retiring from Exxon after many years of dedicated service.

In her younger years, she loved dancing and bowling, and throughout her life she delighted in playing games of all kinds with family. She cherished traveling, creating photo albums filled with memories of trips to many cities to visit her siblings and grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward; her son, Steven Campbell; her daughter, Sherri Campbell Helm; and her sisters Jean Larson, Doris Steele Sherer, and Lorraine Pierce.

She is survived by her son Kevin Campbell (Melody), Sister Charlene Bachman (Ron), and Brother Roger Higginbotham (Karen); her stepchildren, Jeff Flammger and Ann Edens; and her grandchildren Paula Inscho (Cody), Craig Campbell, Kristin Vaughn (Brandon), Eric Campbell (Laura), Chris Ferrante, Angela Snyder, Sarah Mason (Sean), and Traci Campbell. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Carol was the matriarch of her family—deeply loved, deeply respected, and treasured for the countless ways she shared her love. She freely offered her wisdom, her faith, and her steadfast love for Jesus. She will be missed beyond measure

A visitation to honor her life will be held at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, TX on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 5 to 8 pm.
