Carol Jean Crowson
Carol was born on October 16,1937 in Houston, Texas to Rev. Robert E.
and Velma Lucille Lee. Carol was blessed to be a part of a large family with
4 brothers and 2 sisters. They were a family of ministry, pastoring and
evangelizing all over Texas and Arkansas. She married John David
Crowson on September 2, 1954. After 6 miscarriages and the death of her
one day old son, she raised 2 boys, has 4 grandchildren, and 10 great
grandchildren.
Carol was a woman of great faith. She was known by those closest to her
for her intercessory prayer life, calling out to God on behalf of her family
and friends daily. In her life she went through many hardships, almost died
from a reaction to a medication given to her in the hospital, and overcame
various other health issues. Through it all she always believed that God
was in control and in every situation believed that He was the one who
would heal her.
In their early years together Carol and John served the Church as Pastor
and Evangelists. They spent many Sunday afternoons at the Star of Hope
Mission in Houston ministering to the homeless and providing soap,
toothpaste, and various other needed supplies to help any way they could.
Carol had a beautiful voice and used her singing talents for God blessing
many people along the way. Even in her retirement years Carol faithfully
gave monthly financial support to various ministries while living on a fixed
income.
God was Carol's first love and children were her second. Whether her
children, grand children, great grand children or someone else's child she
loved us all. Each of us spent time resting on her hip as she cooked in the
kitchen and each of us enjoyed eating the raw cookie dough fed to us by
Granny's fingers. Many children would come see Granny every Sunday to
receive a piece of Juicy Fruit gum from her purse. She really was
everybody's Granny and will be missed greatly.
