Carol Carilla Colwell passed away at her home in Magnolia, Texas on Thursday March 7, 2024. Carol was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, on February 18, 1954 to Jack Condon and Kathie Brock. She grew up in Houston, Texas and attended Memorial High School before obtaining her GED. After high school, Carol pursued her love of music where she performed with the band Fast Aubrey. She always had a passion for music including playing her guitar and singing.
Carol met Jimmie, her husband, in 1978. They later married that year and had one daughter together, Suzanne Kathleen Garmon. Carol was very proud of Suzanne and always spoke highly of her to others.
Carol ended up returning to the University of St. Thomas where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 1998. She was determined to make sure she finished what she started and has been a role model to others highlighting her resilience and fortitude.
Carol loved being a grandparent and was affectionately known as Grandma CC. She helped take care of Shelby when she was little, teaching her about music and the outdoors. Carol loved hearing of Zach's passion for baseball and seeing the youth in Lily's eyes when she would come over and visit Cherry her dog.
Carol will always be remembered for her compassion towards others. She always looked at each person and tried to make them feel special, taking the time to buy them a favorite item. She was kind-hearted and her sweet nature will be missed.
Carol is survived by her husband, Jimmie Hauge, daughter and son-in law, Suzanne and Scott Garmon, and three grandchildren: Shelby, Zach and Lily Garmon, brother John Condon, sisters Mary Feuerstack (Walt), Bobette Down (Matt), Jeanmarie Tade (Tim), Bouchra Condon, her mother Kathie Brock and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol is preceded in death by her father Jack Condon, brother Steve Condon and step-father Bob Brock.
A celebration of life will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church at 8300 Katy Freeway on March 30, 2024 at 11am. All are welcome to attend.
