Carmen Yolanda Monsivais Cantú was born in Los Herreras,Nuevo León México to Juan and Carmen Hernandez de Cantú. She was known as "la muñeca" and was the 6th out of 7 siblings. Next to the love her life, our father Mario – they created a happy and loving household, full of laughter, smiles, music and vivid colors. Yolanda loved God, loved life, loved her family and bright colors. She loved to laugh, dance, to share a cup of coffee. Yolanda was everybody's biggest cheerleader, and her greatest honor was to be called "Guita" by her grandchildren.
Yolanda always was willing to serve and help others. Along with our father Mario, together they served and actively participated in The Marriage Encounter with the Diocese of Galveston-Houston. She served many years with the prayer group at St. Jerome Catholic Church, the youth groups of Busqueda and Encuentros de Promoción Juvenil.
On January 15th, 2025, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called Yolanda home. What a beautiful encounter it must have been as she was greeted by her husband Mario, son Daniel, grandson Danny and so many other dear family and friends who began their glorious journey home before her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Mario, her son Daniel Jesus, grandson Daniel Andres, her parents, and siblings. The loving legacy that Yolanda leaves behind is her children. Her son Juan, and his children Nicole, Juan Carlo and Grecia. Her daughter Carolina (Lina), and children Danny, Alex, Andrea, Victor, and Laura. Her son Mario, and his children Desiree, Alexis, and Dominic. Her daughter Carmen and her husband Fabian Jimenez, and their children Danny, Nathaniel and Ari. We are forever grateful for your kind words and the sharing of so many memories. Thank you for joining us as we celebrate our mother's life. May God continue to bless each and everyone of you.
