Obituary

Carmel went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2020.  She was born on June 3, 1926 at her grandparents farm in Jeanerette, LA.  Her parents were Bernard O and Hermina Hebert Boudreaux. Her formative years were spent in New Orleans where she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School.  Her father Bernard O. Boudreaux worked in a barber shop on Canal Street until The Depression hit and he was then able to get a job on the Southern Pacific Sunset Limited train, which ran between New Orleans and Los Angeles.  When barbers were eliminated on trains in 1940, he was offered a position as Dinning Car Manager but required to relocate to Houston.   They moved to 1033 Bayland Street in the Houston Heights where Carmel graduated from Reagan High School in 1944. Her dear and close friends were Virginia and Reginald Young who lived on the same property. Shortly after WW 2, she met and married a Navy veteran but divorced shortly after her first child was born, Bradley J Dann.  On Valentine's Day 1950, she met William (Bill) Dann at the Ellington AFB NCO dance.  They married in June 1950 and were married until his death in July 1999.  While moving around in the Air Force she lived in France for 3 years, where she travelled to Germany and fell in love with Hummel figurines and became a lifelong collector.  Upon Bill's retirement from the Air Force they lived in the Fort Worth area until March1972, when they relocated to Houston.  In Houston she started taking art classes and eventually worked in the store where her classes were held.

Carmel is survived by son Bradley J. Dann (Wife Shirley) and family, Cassel M. Buford (Husband Jim) and family, William (Bill) E. Dann (Wife ID) and family, Brian A. Dann, Keith Dann (Wife Sheri) and family. She had 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She also has many relatives in Louisiana and California who were really close.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to The American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
